Season's almost over
The days are getting shorter and cooler. The bees aren't flying as much. We are feeding hives that don't have as much weight and removing the extra supers. Most of the honey supers on now are pretty empty though a few still have some honey. Those are the really strong hives. We will be keeping an eye on all the hives as we go into winter. The days frequently get warm enough here in southside Virginia for the bees to fly. There's not much for them to find after the hard freeze, some pollen and water so we keep checking their weights and feeding accordingly.
